After witnessing a fire that injured his sister, Ahmad developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The experience deeply affected the way he connected with the world around him. He became withdrawn, avoided spending time with others, and rarely wanted to communicate. He would hide beneath his hoodie, keeping his face covered and creating a barrier between himself and the people around him. Then Ahmad joined our English conversation courses at TPR—and a new chapter began.
